went to eat there today. was told to make reservation thru yelp but when I try it would direct me to other states locations but not waikīkī. the bar area was wide open. the host and manager was unnecessarily rude. just tried again to make reservations thru yelp. thought maybe now that's it late it might work but nope. don't know if i'll try again. it's too bad I was looking forward to trying it.

Unfortunately, the two dishes we came specifically for—the Supreme Pork Xiao Long Bao and Mini Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings—were already sold out before 2:00 PM. That was disappointing, especially considering they’re two of the restaurant’s signature items. The restaurant had only been open for about 2 hours and 45 minutes, and you could see staff continuously making dumplings. Instead, we ordered the Szechuan Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao. The red wrapper was a nice touch, and I’d rate the spice level around 3/5. The soup filling was generous, and adding the black vinegar, soy sauce, and ginger balanced the heat nicely, although it still wasn’t quite the “wow” bite we were hoping for. The Wagyu Beef Xiao Long Bao was enjoyable, and you could definitely taste the difference between the beef and traditional pork filling. The Pork Chop Fried Rice was one of our favorites, with generous portions of crispy pork that reminded us more of a pork cutlet than a traditional Chinese pork chop. We also ordered the Supreme Tan Tan Noodles after confirming they were a dry noodle dish. However, they arrived much saucier than expected—almost like a soup. After mixing everything together, the peanut flavor really stood out, and the spice level was mild. Tasty overall, just not what we expected. Service was attentive throughout the meal. Our waiter checked on us regularly, and the pacing between dishes was comfortable. We did notice several servers accidentally bringing dishes to our table that belonged to other guests, but it wasn’t a major issue. Before dessert, we would have appreciated a quick table reset. While we received clean dessert bowls, our used chopsticks and utensils remained on the table. Fresh utensils would have made it easier to fully enjoy the desserts without the lingering flavors from the savory dishes. For dessert, we tried both the Chocolate Melt Xiao Long Bao and Matcha Lava Xiao Long Bao. Fresh out of the steamer, the fillings were very thin. Letting them cool for a few minutes allowed the fillings to thicken, making them much more enjoyable. The chocolate version was our favorite, while the matcha flavor was fairly subtle and tasted more like white chocolate than matcha. Other small observations: the self-serve water pitcher was convenient, but the water wasn’t served with ice. The restroom was small but clean, and the complimentary mouthwash dispenser was a thoughtful touch after a meal full of spices. As huge Din Tai Fung (DTF) fans, that’s naturally our benchmark. While this didn’t quite reach that level, we can confidently say Supreme Dumpling is currently the best place on the Hawaiian Islands for Xiao Long Bao—at least so far. Despite missing out on the signature pork dumplings, we’ll definitely be back to try them, along with more of the menu. Angelina is a sweet and patient server. I’m Asian and had XLB many times, but wanted to know which one was colorful. Anyways, I asked a lot of questions and glad she was our server. I believe the service will make or break this place. Also, whether the restaurant will have draft LOCAL beer. Highly recommend considering pairing draft local beer. We have great local IPA that would be great with Szechuan peppers. Also it’s respect to support local.

Went into the restaurant not expecting much however, I left very satisfied. Our server, Jerica, was very kind and welcoming and helped making the dining experience all the more better. The interior and ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and comfortable. The food was delicious, we tried both the entrees and the deserts and both were good. They also have a mouthwash dispensing station in the washroom, pretty tuff.

Our server, Jerica was very accommodating, patient, friendly, and well-versed in the menu and answered all of our questions. We were unfortunately given a wrong order at some point during the service but it's a soft launch so we didn't mind and Jerica was able to sort everything out. When we were seated, all the cutlery, tables, chairs, pitchers, menus etc; were all highly detailed and maintained with care. The feel of the restaurant is very upscale and it felt like you were dining in a fancy restaurant. Menu was relatively small and neatly organized. Because everything was free, we ate about $350 worth of food and I would happily do it again. The portion sizes are pretty small for the xiao long bao but other menu items like the table favorites, noodles and fried rice are portioned a decent amount for 1 person or 2 people if you're not that hungry. I highly recommend the Pork chop fried rice as the pork chop is very crispy and cooked to perfection. Another thing I recommend is Signature XLB Assortment which comes with 2 Wagyu beef XLB, 2 black truffle XLB, 2 chicken XLB, 2 supreme pork XLB, 2 shrimp XLB, and 2 spicy XLB. It's good if you can't decide on what you want and are willing to try everything. For drinks, I got the Sunshine Lemonade, specifically strawberry lemonade and that stuff was so good. Had about 50% sugar so not too bland but not too sweet, was just perfect. Overall, 5/5 stars! This restaurant is perfect if you want to experience a unique take on Chinese food AND get your moneys worth, this is the place! Far drive for me since I live west side but it was definitely worth it and will be returning soon! Yelp pageXiao long bao was good but I feel like din tai fung is a lot better.
